Drop Off & Pick Up Safety Reminders
Traffic congestion in the parking lot and surrounding streets can be significantly reduced with the cooperation of parents and students in following some basic guidelines.
1. In order to maximize the available curb space, it is important that parents pull forward as far as possible along this curb and make room for other vehicles.
2. If traffic congestion is causing a back-up in the right hand lane and space is available along the curb in front of the car ahead of you, please feel free to use the thru lane to pull forward and find a space along the curb to safely drop off or pick up your student.
3. Another way to avoid congestion is to adjust your morning schedule slightly to arrive a little bit earlier to school. If your schedule permits, an optimal time to drop off your child is between 7 to 7:15 a.m.
4. Always pull up as far as possible along the curb when dropping off or picking up your student. Occasionally this will cause your child to walk a little bit further, but it will be helpful to everybody.
5. Do not allow your student(s) to exit the car while you are in the left hand thru lane. This is extremely dangerous. Always drop-off and pick-up along the curb.
6. Please avoid U-turns on 1300 East and other adjacent streets and please do not park your vehicle on 1300 East to pick up your student.
Thank you for your help and cooperation with all matters related to our school, and particularly with those matters dealing with student safety.
