Please Help Reduce the Number of Tardies at DPMS

It is that belief that led the Draper Park administration to closely examine tardies in our school.
Issues observed:
Our biggest issue is FIRST PERIOD TARDIES!
From the first day of school until Feb. 2, 2017 here are our recorded tardies by period (date provided from Skyward):

Issues observed:
- most students begin the school year with the urgency to be on-time to class.
- the sense of urgency diminishes with time.
- being on time became our priority and not the student’s priority.
- academic time is being lost due to tardies.

To remediate the issue we need the help from all stakeholders. Immediately the following ideas will be implemented:
- music will be added at the beginning of each school day
- teachers will be in the hall by the door during passing times.
- students will be given a Courage Violation when late to class.
- class will begin on time.
- parents will support students by encouraging and helping their child be on time to school.
- parents will pull forward when dropping off and picking up their students
- students will walk purposefully and quickly to class
