Viking Book Club
Our October Viking Book Club was held on Halloween! We read the book, Closed for the Season by Mary Downing Hahn. The book discussion was very beneficial for all who participated.
We will be holding our next book club on Dec. 7. This will be a genre book club which will allow students to read any book of their choosing (middle school appropriate) in the genre of Fantasy or Holiday (Hanukah, Christmas, etc.). Once students sign up and are selected they will be notified of the details.
Overdue Books and Fines
Just reminder that students who have fines and /or late books need to take care of them ASAP. If you have questions, please let us know. Books are checked out for 10 school days with three days of grace period before fines start at $.10/school day.
Digital Citizenship
At DPMS we strive to teach our students to be good digital citizens. As the Digital Citizenship Coordinator for DPMS I want to make you aware of some great resources for parents and students. These resource links can be found on our library website under “Digital Citizenship.” Do you have a contract for safe internet use between parents and students? Click here for some good examples that parents and students can use at home.
