Red Ribbon Week to Feature Nationally Acclaimed Speaker
Red Ribbon Week, Oct 22-26, will feature an assembly with motivational speaker Dan Clark, New York Times Best Selling Author; a Hall of Fame Professional Speaker; a University Professor; an Extreme Adventurer; a Gold Record Songwriter; an Award Winning Athlete; 2012 Utah Father of the Year, and CEO of Clark Success Systems. Clark's assembly will focus on this year's Red Ribbon Week national theme of: "Life is Your Journey. Travel Drug Free."
The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to encourage students to live a safe, healthy, and drug-free life. Red Ribbon Week serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
Since 1988, the campaign has reached millions of U.S. children and families. Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.
