Red Ribbon Week to feature popular youth speaker
Red Ribbon Week, set for Oct. 24-28 is a great time to talk as a family about drugs and alcohol. DPMS will hold an activity every day to focus on drug prevention and education. Monday, Oct. 24, will feature BYU professor and popular Especially For Youth speaker Hank Smith who will talk about health, friendships and peer pressure. The event, open to parents and students, begins at 6:30 p.m. at Corner Canyon High School auditorium.
Students are invited to dress up each day in support of a specific theme.
Monday, Oct. 24: “Tie Up Drugs” Day (wear your favorite tie to school, and look for all the Red Ribbons around Draper.)
Tuesday, Oct. 25: “Rally in Red" Day (wear red)
Wednesday, Oct. 26: “Take a Hike, Drugs and Peer Pressure!” Day (wear outdoor clothing)
Thursday, Oct. 27: “Be a SUPERHERO and Stay away from Drugs!” Day (wear Super Hero gear)
Friday, Oct. 28: “Team Up Against Drugs!” Day (wear your favorite team spirit clothes or school colors)
